The Similarities Between Soccer and Football

Association football, also known as just football or soccer, is an open team game played between two sides of eleven players each. It is played professionally by more than 250 million players across more than 200 nations and dependencies, making it perhaps the most popular sport in the world. The game was developed in France in the early 1900s and remains to this day the most played contact sport in the entire world. It was first picked up by English and Scottish clubs and has gained popularity in all European countries to varying degrees. It is now enjoyed by people from all walks of life, young and old alike.

Association football is played between two teams with each side using a rectangular grid called a field. The object of the game is for your team to score more points (“point”) than the opposition. Points are scored when a player carries the ball forward and touches either an object ball or a teammate’s ball. Touching an object ball means you were part of the action which makes you a “scorer” or member of the winning team. Touching an opponent ball means that you were a part of the foul act and you are punished with a point.

Professional Football is played in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, South Africa and Switzerland. The game is not officially recognized by the International Football Associations but is known as ” Exhibition Football “. This sport is played in high schools, colleges and recreational fields. It can be seen as a generic form of soccer due to its widespread coverage in North America where it is predominantly played.

Rugby Football is a game played between teams of approximately 12 men each. It has a history of about fifty years and was played between British, Irish and Australian people. It is not as popular as the game of soccer and is not as widely played as football. Some people do call rugby “football” due to similarities between the two sports.

Ice Hockey is a well-known sport to the people of North America and Europe. The game is well-known among Americans as “ice hockey”. Ice hockey is played between teams at an ice rink and is usually played as part of a professional league. There are currently three different levels of ice hockey. The highest level is professionally called “professional ice hockey” and the lowest level is known as “ice hockey for children”.

As you can see, there are many differences between the game of Football and the game of Ice Hockey. However, the similarities end there. Each sport requires a unique set of skills, traits and personality traits. That is why there are more similarities than differences between the two games.
